MFA (Master Football Academy) was established in 2004, and through the professional expertise, passion, and international experience of the MFA team, they have overcome countless challenges through nearly 20 years of operations in Taiwan.
In 2004, the founding team members, Daniel Calvert and Michael Chandler, have continuously contributed their knowledge and experience to grassroots football. Through their extensive network and relationships within the British football industry, they have accumulated over 20 years of experience and have coached more than 10,000 youth football players. They have also facilitated ongoing exchanges with European professional teams and football clubs, providing Taiwanese youth football players with more excitement and exposure. A significant milestone for MFA is their close collaboration with the Rangers Football Club, one of the teams in the Scottish Premiership.
Furthermore, MFA operates an exclusive football facility in Taipei. Throughout the last two decades, their endeavors within Taiwan's soccer sector have captured Volkswagen's interest. This led to the formal establishment of a notable partnership between MFA and Volkswagen, united in their commitment to advancing the growth of Taiwan's soccer industry.
MFA’s main objective is to develop confident and creative young players who have self-belief and the right attitude. Placing great emphasis on good sportsmanship, teamwork, respect of others and leadership on and off the pitch.
Over the past few seasons, the MFA team has overcome the impact of COVID-19. The Victory League, promoted by MFA, has successfully expanded beyond the Taipei area and into the Taichung region in the previous season. In total, there were 81 teams and 1,149 youth football players registered to participate.
In the 2023-2024 season, the MFA team took a significant step forward by collaborating with various teams and individuals. They joined forces with Stanley Shih, leading the Believe Recreation and Wings Sports Marketing team in Hsinchu, Lukas, the coach leading the Kickstart team in Taichung, and John, the founder of the Fitness Factory team in Kaohsiung. Together, they launched a national league for four different age groups: 8, 10, 12, and 14 years old. So far, they have attracted over 200 teams to register for the upcoming season set to kick off in October. It's an exciting development for Taiwanese youth football.
Daniel and Michael, two of the original founders, express that expanding the Victory League to all four regions in the 2023-2024 season is a critical breakthrough. They look forward to revealing league partners, sponsors, and exclusive team programs in the upcoming announcements. They anticipate that the new season starting in October 2023 will bring a fresh competition experience to the participating teams.
